Our primary vision at 2 Way Travel is to provide opportunities for individuals and
groups to impact the communities of Cape Town through community service tourism. We
put together packages that enable travellers to see our beautiful country, while at
the same time contributing towards the needs of our communities. Why not come and

Overland adventures
We organise exciting overland adventures into Southern Africa. Our
Botswana / Zambia trip has been the most popular to date with 3 full
trips in September 2006! We are going to be adding Namibia to our
list of destinations for 2007, which we are very excited about!
For a more local experience, we offer a trip up the Garden Route where
you will interact and live with local people in rural communities. In
addition, you’ll get to visit some of South Africa’s most beautiful
locations. This is a unique experience that is guaranteed to be a life
changing journey!

Township
Home Stays
In a country which has a history of geographical segregation of people
from different racial groupings, there remains a marked distinction
between the different communities in Cape Town. 2 Way Travel aims
to not only provide opportunities for people from different socio-economic & cultural
backgrounds to interact but we also aim to break down the divides
that perpetuate the segregation.
We have established relationships with a number of families in Cape
Town’s townships who have visitors stay in their homes for a period
of time. These home stay experiences are open to foreigners and locals
alike, and can be from one night to a whole month (or longer if you
want). This unique experience is not only humbling and enriching,
but also becomes an invaluable source of income to families who so
desperately need it.
2 Way Travel arranges monthly home stay events but we can also arrange
for individuals or groups to stay at a time that suites them. Contact

Meet Mamas Nokuzola and Lydia
Mama Nokuzola, affectionately known as Mama Noks, is a widow
raising her two young children. Apart from having her own jewellery
business, she and Mama Lydia also have a catering business where they
make tasty, traditional foods. Mama Lydia and Tata Zizi are active members
in their community, serving in many ways. Both of these families love
opening their homes to visitors and sharing the extent of South African
hospitality with whoever comes to stay.

Cultural
Garden Route Trips
The Garden Route is known to be one of the most beautiful stretches
of coastline in the world. Why not combine this with the rare opportunity
to interact and live with some of the local people? Visit Bongolethu
Township and stay with Nomizana en route to the ostrich farms in Oudsthoorn.
Explore the Cango Caves, the forests of Wilderness and visit Knysna’s
famous Big Tree. Have tea with Liza at Collinshoek and stay with Oom
(Uncle) Japie and Auntie Gertrude in Karatara, a retirement settlement
for forestry workers. And while you’re about it, why not go bungi
jumping off the mighty Bloukrans Bridge, highest freefall in the South
Hemisphere – 216 metres!!! These are just some of the highlights from
one of these trips.

Freelance
Tour Guiding
2 Way Travel offers private tour guiding for individuals and small
groups. We would love to take you on personalised
tours of the Western Cape and beyond. Mike’s personal favourite tour
is the township experiences where he will take you into the heart
of the Cape Flats on a township tour. Included in the tour is a visit
to a community centre and Aids Hospice facility, with lunch at a local
restaurant.
