2 Way Travel is excited to be hosting our first volunteer
trip for individuals who want to sign up for a volunteer
trip to Cape Town. Spend 9 days in this beautiful city
while volunteering at a children’s home in the townships.
Sign up closes on the 29th of August or when we reach our
capacity of 20 people (we require a minimum of 6 people

Introduction
One of 2 Way Travel’s visions is to make tangible contributions
towards addressing the injustices caused by South Africa's
Apartheid government through social upliftment and transformational
tourism. Come and be apart of this vision by coming with
a group to volunteer at one of our partner organisations.
It’s a life changing experience.
Background
South Africa’s political history is marked with many
human rights violations and injustices. These have left
much of our countries’ population living with the lasting
effects of these scars. Many adults were subjected to
a ‘gutter education’ under the Apartheid regime, which
was essentially an intentionally poor education to everyone
who was not a White South African. High unemployment
levels (40%) and poor income levels mean that the majority
of South African society lives in poverty. Added to these
economic conditions, social conditions see the cycle
and effects of poverty being perpetuated. Unfortunately,
children are often the victims of these circumstances.
Many of the communities that were established under the
Group Areas Act of 1950 are deprived of opportunities
and resources to affect change within their communities.
2 Way Travel is committed to making a tangible difference
in South Africa society by addressing some of the wrongs
of South Africa’s past. We aim to bridge the equity gap
through social upliftment and transformational tourism.
In South Africa today there are many organisations doing
incredible work in an attempt to meet the social and
economical challenges brought about by our past. 2 Way
Travel is a Cape Town based company and currently supports
organisations within the greater Cape Town area. We want
to help partner with these organisations in order to
meet the greater needs in our society.
We are a Christian-based company who supports Christian
and other organisations and welcome people of all backgrounds
to join in our 2 Way Travel experiences. 2 Way Travel
firmly believes in creating volunteer experiences that
not only benefit the individuals and organisations where
the work takes place, but also in creating opportunities
for volunteers to receive life-impacting experiences
– a truly 2 Way experience! A volunteer experience such
as this will open your eyes to the reality in which the
majority of the world lives. It will challenge you to
re-examine the way you view life and the way you live
your life. You’ll be surprised at how life takes on a
different meaning when you serve in a place where you
never expected to find yourself.
