Namibia Highlights

Sand dunesYou’ll leave early on Saturday morning on the road trip towards the Namibian border – the best way to see the Western stretch of South Africa. You’ll spend your first night in the Cederberg Mountains under the Namaqualand stars and discover that there are far more than you could ever have imagined!!! The next day you will cross into Namibia and camp on the banks of the Orange River. The next day you have the option of a relaxing morning on the riverbank or the half-day canoe adventure. After lunch you will travel north to the Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world. From Ai Ais you will continue on into the remote Namibian hinterland. You will arrive at camp in the afternoon and have time to go for a walk in to the smaller Sesriem Canyon. The next day you will take advantage of the cooler temperatures and depart at dawn and drive into the Namib-Naukluft National Park where you will hike up the famous Dune 45 to gain a different perspective of the desert. On day six you will take a dramatic drive through the arid Namib-Naukluft, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn and arrive at Walvis Bay. You make a stop to view the flamingos (if you’re lucky) before heading towards the seaside resort town of Swakopmund. Day 6 dinner is not included as the group usually goes out for a dinner at a local restaurant. After the meal you can go out to one of the local clubs. If you do, one of the guides will go with you. Day 7 is left free for each individual to pursue their own interests including many adventure activities. The penultimate day starts very early as you head back to Cape Town enjoying the last few days of the tour. After once again camping on the banks for the Orange River you will take the final drive home on the last day.
